Aurora's medical district is anchored by the Fitzsimons Innovation Community and the UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital β part of the Anschutz Medical Campus, the largest academic health center in the Rocky Mountain region.
What's there
The 578-acre campus at Colfax Avenue and Fitzsimons Parkway hosts University of Colorado Hospital, Children's Hospital Colorado, the CU schools of medicine, nursing, pharmacy and public health, and the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. Together they employ tens of thousands and draw patients from across the Mountain West.
Getting there
The campus sits on the R Line light rail with stops at Fitzsimons and Colfax. RTD buses serve the perimeter, and patient shuttles connect the hospitals, clinics and research buildings. Free and paid parking structures ring the core; the VA and Children's operate dedicated garages.
Visiting
