Monday Night Lights: Your Aurora Prep Scoreboard for Oct. 5
It was a busy Monday across the Fox Valley, and if you blinked, you might have missed a key conference win or a sectional tune-up. From the diamonds at Stuart Sports Complex to the courts at West and East, Aurora’s fall athletes kept the momentum rolling heading into the heart of October.
On the softball front, area squads are jockeying for final playoff seeding. Look for DuKane and Upstate Eight showdowns to shake up the bracket—especially with Metea Valley and Waubonsie Valley both eyeing deep runs. Over on the volleyball courts, it was senior night for several programs. Expect big swing energy from Rosary and Aurora Christian as they sharpen their serve-receive for regionals.
The fastest-growing game in town, girls flag football, took center stage under the lights. With the IHSA state series looming, Monday’s matchups served as critical film sessions. Keep an eye on the East Aurora Tomcats and West Aurora Blackhawks—both are building legitimate contenders in only the sport’s second sanctioned season.
Meanwhile, field hockey squads battled for conference supremacy on the turf, and boys golf wrapped up conference tournaments at courses like Phillips Park and Orchard Valley, with individual qualifiers punching tickets to sectionals.
