âThis level of violence against children is unacceptable,â says EdouardâŻBeigbeder, Auroraâs Director of Community Safety.
Every parent, teacher, and neighbor in Aurora knows that our cityâs greatest strength is the wellâbeing of our kids. Yet recent reports of bullying, online harassment, and neighborhood incidents have reminded us that we must stay vigilant. The Aurora Police Department, in partnership with the Aurora School District and local nonprofits, is rolling out a cityâwide âSafe Kidsâ initiative that includes afterâschool mentorship programs, expanded mentalâhealth services, and a 24âhour tip line for suspicious activity.
Our community centers on Eastâside Aurora and Lakeview are now offering free workshops on digital safety, while the Aurora Youth Council is launching a peerâled campaign to teach respectful conflict resolution. Residents can also join the monthly âNeighborhood Watch & Wellnessâ meetings at the Aurora Community Hall, where experts will share strategies to protect children both online and offline.
By working togetherâparents, schools, lawâenforcement, and local businessesâwe can turn EdouardâŻBeigbederâs powerful statement into action. Letâs keep Aurora a place where every child can play, learn, and grow without fear.
