Aurora’s Softball Teams Shine at the Class 5A State Tournament
Aurora’s own Cherokee Trail Softball Team has cruised into the Class 5A state tournament, delivering a performance that had fans at the Aurora High School stadium on the edge of their seats. After a flawless regular season and a dominant run through the regional brackets, the Trailblazers entered the state competition with confidence, winning their opening game 7‑2 and showcasing the depth of talent that Aurora parents and alumni have come to expect.
Not to be outdone, Eaglecrest Softball also secured a spot in the tournament, though their path was a bit more rugged. After a nail‑biting extra‑inning victory over a longtime rival and a hard‑fought comeback against a top‑seeded team, the Eagles earned their place among the state’s elite. Their perseverance epitomizes the “never‑give‑up” spirit that resonates throughout our Aurora neighborhoods.
Both teams have drawn enthusiastic crowds from West Aurora, East Aurora, and the downtown community, with local businesses sponsoring snack tables and cheering sections. The upcoming matches will be held at Aurora Community Field next Saturday, and tickets are still available online—perfect for families looking for a weekend outing.
