Your Weekend Entertainment Lineup: What Aurora’s Watching, Playing & Streaming (Oct. 5)
The Associated Press dropped its weekly roundup, and while the national list includes some head-scratchers (Spielberg’s Disclosure Day isn’t on any call sheet we’ve seen, and Gears of War: E-Day is still deep in development at The Coalition), there’s plenty actually hitting screens and speakers this weekend worth your time.
For the Gamers: If you’re camping at GameStop on Eola or downloading overnight, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is the co-op shooter dominating Discord right now—brutal, gorgeous, and perfect for a Saturday squad run. Astro Bot on PS5 is the pure-platformer palate cleanser we didn’t know we needed.
For the Streamers: Netflix’s The Platform 2 drops Friday—dystopian, Spanish, and weirdly timely. Hulu counters with Hold Your Breath, a Dust Bowl horror starring Sarah Paulson that feels made for October in Illinois. And if you missed The Penguin premiere on Max, Sunday night is catch-up time; the Gotham grit hits different when you’re watching from a couch in Fox Valley.
For the Music Crowd: Pitbull did drop Trackhouse (Daytona 500 Edition)—high-energy, feature-heavy, tailor-made for the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre tailgate lot next summer. Locally, The Venue in Aurora has The Wailers Friday night (roots reggae, no cover before 9) and Killer Queen Saturday for the Freddie fix.
