Don’t Blink: Aurora Just Served Up a Perfect Fall Weekend (And a First Friday to Match)
Let’s be real—Front Range autumn usually lasts about 45 minutes. One day you’re sweating in shorts at Reservoir Park, the next you’re scraping ice off your windshield near Buckley. But this weekend? The weather gods finally cooperated. Sunny, low-70s, zero wind. The kind of Saturday that makes you forget winter exists.
Perfect timing, too. The Aurora Cultural Arts District’s First Friday Art Walk kicks off tomorrow at 5 p.m., stretching along Colfax from Yosemite to Peoria. Galleries, studios, and pop-ups stay open late—think live demos at DAVA, new exhibits at The People’s Building, and local makers selling everything from ceramics to small-batch hot sauce on the sidewalks. Grab a pour-over at Hops & Pie or a taco from El Taco Veloz and make a loop of it. Parking’s easiest near the Aurora Fox Arts Center if you get there early.
If galleries aren’t your speed, the Aurora Farmers Market runs Saturday 8 a.m.–1 p.m. at the Municipal Center—peak Palisade peach season, plus honey from Bee Squared just down the road. Afterward, walk it off on the High Line Canal Trail near Cherry Creek State Park; the cottonwoods are just starting to turn gold.
Weather like this doesn’t stick around. Get outside while the getting’s good.
