Eaglecrest’s Haisley Elliott Is Doing It All—And the Raptors Are Rolling
If you’ve driven past the fields at Eaglecrest High lately, you’ve probably seen the Raptors taking batting practice under the lights. But this spring, the real show starts when sophomore Haisley Elliott steps into the box—or toes the rubber.
The 10th-grade utility weapon is putting together a season for the ages in Centennial League play. As of this week, Elliott leads all of Class 5A in batting average, swinging a hot stick that has opposing coaches shaking their heads in the third-base box. But the stat line that made the group chat blow up last Tuesday? A perfect game. Seven innings. Twenty-one up, twenty-one down. Zero hits, zero walks, zero errors behind her.
“She just competes,” says a Raptors assistant. “Doesn’t matter if she’s hitting cleanup or shutting down a lineup in the circle. She wants the ball.”
For an Eaglecrest program that has become a perennial postseason threat—think deep runs at the Aurora Sports Park complex—Elliott’s two-way dominance changes the ceiling. The Raptors aren't just looking to win the league; they’re eyeing a dangerous bracket run in late October.
With a lineup that protects her and a defense that plays loose behind her, Elliott gives head coach [Coach Name] a luxury most 5A squads dream of: a true ace who hits like a designated hitter.
Next up: a huge conference series against [Rival School, e.g., Cherokee Trail/Grandview] this Thursday at 4:00 PM. Bring a lawn chair. You won’t want to miss this one.
