AURORA — East of E-470, the long-promised "aerotropolis" around Denver International Airport is quietly turning into rooftops and employers.

The Aurora Highlands continues phased housing construction with new parks and school sites opening alongside, while industrial development along the E-470 corridor adds logistics, aerospace and advanced-manufacturing employers. Gaylord Rockies remains the district's anchor employer and convention draw.

The build-out matters beyond new housing: it is pulling retail, health care and dining eastward, reshaping commutes, and raising the stakes on the city's data center and water debates — most of the contested industrial proposals sit in this northeast quadrant.

AuroraToday tracks project-by-project progress in our Aerotropolis Tracker, updated as plats and permits advance.
