Don’t Miss the Aurora Science & Tech Girls Basketball Showdown – Jan. 7, 2027
Aurora residents, mark your calendars! On Saturday, January 7, the Aurora Science & Tech (AST) Lady Rockets will face off against the Golden View Classical Academy (GVCA) Warriors in a high‑stakes CHSAA matchup that promises fast‑break action, clutch three‑pointers, and plenty of hometown pride.
The game will be played at the Aurora High School gymnasium (1235 S. Alameda Ave.), just a short drive from downtown. It’s a perfect family outing—kids can watch local talent shine, and adults can enjoy the electric atmosphere that only high‑school basketball brings to our community.
Why tune in? - Local heroes: AST’s senior guard, Maya Patel, leads the league in assists, while GVCA’s forward, Zoe Martinez, is a rising star in the state’s top‑scorer list. - CHSAA stakes: This is a crucial conference game that could determine postseason seeding for both schools. - Community spirit: Supporting our girls’ teams helps fund scholarships, equipment upgrades, and future youth programs.
Grab a seat early—parking fills up fast, and the concession stand will be serving Aurora‑favorite snacks like veggie‑loaded nachos and locally brewed soda.
