Higher Orbits, a nonprofit that promotes STEM education, will host its Go For Launch! program at the Colorado Air Space Port in Watkins, Colorado, on Sep 26 and Sep 27, 2026. The two‑day event runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day and is open to students in grades 8‑12, including rising eighth‑graders and recent seniors. Participants must attend both full days.

The program is offered on a pay‑what‑you‑can basis, aiming to remove cost barriers for all interested students. Former NASA astronaut Mike Bueno Good, who logged more than 25 days in space and completed four spacewalks, will share his experience with the youth.

Go For Launch! gives students the chance to learn directly from astronauts and industry professionals while developing the teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills that will prepare them for tomorrow s workforce.

Higher Orbits founder and CEO Michelle Lucas said the Colorado region’s vibrant aerospace community makes the state an ideal place for students to discover career opportunities in space and engineering.

What this means for residents – Aurora families with eligible students have a local, low‑cost chance to engage in hands‑on aerospace activities and connect with professionals from the industry.

What’s next – Registration is open now on the Higher Orbits website; interested students should sign up early, as space is limited.
