Remembering Kenneth Robert Edgerton (1943 – 2026) – A Beloved Aurora Neighbor
The Aurora community says goodbye to one of its own. Kenneth Robert Edgerton, a lifelong resident of Aurora, Colorado, passed away in 2026 at the age of 82. Kenneth’s story is woven into the fabric of our city— from his early days growing up on East Colfax, to his decades of service as a volunteer firefighter and mentor at the Aurora Youth Center.
Friends and family describe Kenneth as “a quiet hero” whose generosity never went unnoticed. He was a regular at the historic Aurora Union Station farmers market, where he shared fresh produce from his garden and offered gardening tips to anyone who stopped by. His love of classic cars made him a familiar sight at the annual Aurora Car Show, where he proudly displayed his restored 1965 Mustang.
Kenneth’s legacy lives on through the scholarships he funded at Aurora High School and the countless lives he touched through his Sunday‑morning Bible study group at the First United Methodist Church. Neighbors remember his warm smile, his willingness to lend a hand, and the stories he told about Aurora’s transformation over the past six decades.
